We are so blessed that you have had an interest in Pray At
7. We believe strongly that this movement can have a dynamic
effect on our world and on us as believers.
What started as a burden in the hearts of 2 men,
Johan Candelin of Finland's
Friends of the Martyred Church,
and Norm Nelson of US'
Compassion Radio,
has become a burning in the hearts of many leaders in America
and Europe for Christians to come together in corporate prayer
around the world...
~to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters,
~to pray for the renewal of the Christian
nuclear family,
~and to pray for the rededication of the
Christian church to
the Great Commission.
More than a billion Muslims pray corporately morning and evening
every day all around the world. The Jews of Biblical times used
to gather together at the 9th hour to pray. Certainly, we who
follow Jesus Christ should be just as faithful in offering our
prayers to God.
Of concern is
that Christians tend to find so much to criticize in other
beliefs and religions. And spend so much time doing so. And, the
haunting question kept returning,
"What if
we, as believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of this
world, were to unite to pray corporately around the world at
specified times each day. letting our praise, and supplications
be lifted to heaven in a universal cry?"
Muslims do it, why not
Christians, too?
The idea of
lifting voices together in strength, in faith, and in agreement
can be thrilling. Thus came the idea of committing to the
concept of
7@7&7 ~
praying for no less than 7 minutes at 7 am and 7
pm.
A
key element in this new
Pray At 7
movement is the helpful website that provides news, information
and concerns from around the world about which you can pray!
Friends of the Martyred Church,
based in Europe, and
Compassion Radio
have now been joined by
Open Doors with Brother Andrew.
These 3 ministries (soon to be joined by others) each offers you
a column of prayer concerns to help inform your praying on the
7s.
As this movement grows, believers from all around the world will
be praying at every hour. Whenever you join in, you will be
joining a band of bold intercessors.

What is
Compassion Radio?
Compassion Radio
is unique.
We are a
boots-on-the-ground communications ministry that goes beyond
talk and into action to serve the neediest people in the
toughest places on earth.
We did not
name ourselves.
The
name,
Compassion Radio, was given by an aid
worker in a Middle Eastern refugee camp as a description of what
the ministry was doing to help poor and oppressed people.
The name
stuck.
And so
has
Compassion Radio’s
commitment to serve
those in need and to share God’s Good News.
Compassion Radio
works through strategic partnerships.
We are
well-connected internationally with a growing number of
organizations in the fields of:
The
work of
Compassion Radio has been covered by
CNN, NBC Television, Fox Television and other broadcast and
print media.
As a
ministry on the move serving around the world, we’ve learned to
travel light.
Compassion Radio
is small in what we have acquired, but big in what we give away.
We sponsor
compassion projects in the world’s desperate places.
We dialogue
with world leaders.
We tell
exciting stories of God’s reconciling work around the world.
We offer
opportunities for listeners to get involved.
Our programs
feature teaching, interviews, documentaries and on-site news
reports from places like: Baghdad, Iraq; Tehran, Iran; Kabul, Afghanistan;
Khartoum, Sudan; The West Bank, Palestine; Pyongyang, North
Korea and Beijing, China
…in a daily half hour format.
We are
ambitious to grow, but not for our own sake. For the sake of
those for whom God calls us to care.
We invite you
to visit the rest of our site, listen to a broadcast, and learn
about us. We hope you might find a place where your heart feels
at home.
