The
Institute for Religion and Public Policy, a Washington D. C. based Christian
organization with whom Compassion Radio partners, has been nominated for the
2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
The IRPP
founded and directed by Joe Grieboski in 1999, seeks to introduce
information and influence legislation on international and domestic issues
that impact the lives of people of religious conviction around the world.
Of
particular note is IRPP’s sponsorship of the annual Interparliamentary
Conference on Human Rights and Religious Freedom which brings together
members of the Parliaments of more than 70 nations to examine the status of
religious freedom in countries worldwide.
Compassion Radio President, Norm Nelson, has been a participant at these
Interparliamentary Conferences, most recently at the Pontifical Gregorian
University in Rome in 2006.
